Beam Cooling at the EIC
The Electron Ion Collider (EIC) will achieve a luminosity of 10^34 cm^-2s^−1 by incorporating hadron cooling to counteract Intra-Beam Scattering. This talk will describe the present EIC hadron cooling concepts as well as the physics and technology challenges to be resolved. A particular attention will be focused on the so-called Coherent Electron Cooling concept, which is a lead candidate technology for the EIC.
