EFI Colloquium - UnNuclear Physics: Conformal Symmetry In Nuclear Reactions, Dam Son, UChicago

3:30 pm MCP 201

Conformal symmetry plays an important role in quantum field theory and statistical physics. A nonrelativistic version of the conformal symmetry, also called Schrödinger symmetry, is approximately realized in various physical systems, including neutrons at low energy and ultracold trapped atoms. After going through the formalism of nonrelativistic conformal field theory in broad strokes, we consider the application of such a theory in the physics of nuclear reactions with several neutrons in the final state.
