Particle Physics Seminar - AI and Neutrino Physics - Corey Adams, ANL

3:30–4:30 pm MCP 201

The impact of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning has spread to large portions of our lives, including our phones, cameras, cars, smart devices - and its not surprising that particle physics research is also undergoing a change as a result of AI.  In this seminar, I will discuss the impacts Machine Learning has had on fundamental physics searches as well as the challenges in applying these new techniques to particle physics datasets.  In particular, this will highlight neutrino physics where high resolution, difficult to analyze datasets are the norm and the impact of Machine Learning is substantial.
