Particle Physics Seminar - Development of Wire-Cell Event Reconstruction for LArTPCs in Neutrino Physics, Xin Qian, Brookhaven

3:30–4:30 pm Zoom

Liquid Argon time projection chamber (LArTPC) is a scalable, tracking calorimeter that features rich event topology information. It provides the core detector technology for many current and next-generation large-scale neutrino experiments including the Short-Baseline Neutrino program (SBN) and the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE). In this talk, I am going to review the development of one leading LArTPC event reconstruction paradigm, Wire-Cell, by the MicroBooNE collaboration. The application of the Wire-Cell event reconstruction in several recent physics analyses from MicroBooNE experiment including a search for an anomalous excess in electron-neutrino Interactions and a measurement of energy-dependent inclusive muon neutrino charged-current cross sections will be discussed.
