Superconducting phases of metallic altermagnets.
Altermagnets are a novel magnetic phases of matter in which, unlike ferromagnets, they do not have a net magnetization and, unlikeantiferromagnets (or spin density waves), the do not break translationinvariance. Instead, altermagnets are invariant under a spatial rotation (orpoint group symmetry of the lattice) followed by a global spin flip. In thistalk I will discuss the general physics of these phases of matter and, in thecase of metallic systems, on the surprisingly rich variety of superconducting statesthat they can support.
