Quick Start Guide

Use this page as a reference to get started with building your Template Site. For video tutorials and advanced help, visit sites.uchicago.edu. If you have questions or require technical support, or if you would like to suggest an enhancement or new feature, click the "Feedback and Support" item in your toolbar menu at the top of the page to contact us.

Logging In

Log in to your website by clicking on the copyright symbol in the footer. You will log in with your CNET ID and password.


Once you have logged in to your site, you will see a toolbar at the very top of the page. This toolbar contains links to help you manage your content.


Creating Content

To create a new piece of content, click on the "Add content" link in your toolbar. You will see a list of all of the different types of content you can create.

Finding and Editing Content

Once you have created some content, you will probably want to make some changes to it. There are two ways to do so:

  • Navigate to the page you created and click the "Edit" tab just below the title of the page.
  • Click on the "Find content" link in your toolbar. From there, you can find the page you are looking for by sorting or filtering the complete list of content on your site.


By saving your content in draft form, you have the opportunity to do a full preview of your content before you make it available for everyone to see. To save your page in draft form, click the "Save as draft" button at the bottom of the page edit screen.

Once you have reviewed your content and you are ready to "publish," click the "Publish" button at the bottom of the page edit screen.
